Queens University, Levine Center
Electric continuously hinged ALPHA 'U' panels up to 43 ft tall on #6 track plus manual SIGMA 'C' paired panels. GC: Rodgers Builders Inc.
Advanced Equipment Corporation manufactured and installed 10,694 square feet of operable partitions at Queens University's Levine Center for Wellness and Recreation in Charlotte, North Carolina. The project features two 43 ft tall operable partition systems working together to maximize flexibility within the athletics and recreation facility.
The primary system is a continuously hinged electric operation using ALPHA 'U' panels on a #6 track, with panels reaching up to 43 feet in height. The electric drive allows the panels to be moved with minimal physical effort despite their massive scale, enabling the facility to shift quickly between multi-courts to single court.
A secondary manual system using SIGMA 'C' paired panels on a #2 track providing additional flexible spaces. General contractor Rodgers Builders Inc. delivered the project to completion in 2012.
