Commercial operable partition installation

Commercial Installations, 297 SF to Eight Systems

Commercial work rarely wants one answer. At BAC Solarium in Guanacaste, Costa Rica — designed by Gensler — the same 933 SF installation runs manual GAMMA 'O' panels in standard vinyl next to IMAGE 'J' panels glazed in 1/2" tempered glass. The solid panels carry the acoustic privacy for closed meetings; the glass keeps daylight and sightlines through the floor plate when the rooms are open.

Consolidadora Chilena in San Antonio, Chile shows the other end of the range: eight separate systems on one floor — three manual curved and five manual remote-stack, all SIGMA 'C' on #2 track. The curved runs follow the building's architectural contours rather than forcing the architecture to accept a straight wall, and pass doors integrated into the closed partitions keep people circulating without opening a full panel.

Scale is not the constraint people expect. BBVA's Lima campus uses 1,054 SF of Gamma panels on #2 track with remote stack, so the training floor reads as one room until it needs to be several. Regional Utilities in Navarre, Florida is a single 297 SF manual glass slider on #8 track, specified by DAG Architects for an office entry. Same engineering, two very different briefs.

Common Questions

Questions we get from corporate clients

Glass or solid panels for a meeting room?

Often both. BAC Solarium runs IMAGE 'J' panels in 1/2" tempered glass alongside solid GAMMA 'O' panels in the same installation — glass where daylight and visual openness matter, solid where the meeting needs acoustic privacy. Our glass wall installation guide covers the trade-off.

Can a partition follow a curved wall?

Yes — true curved track and panel, not a series of straight segments approximating a curve. Consolidadora Chilena has three manual curved systems following the building's contours, running alongside five straight remote-stack systems on the same floor.

Where do the panels go when the room is open?

A remote stack parks them away from the opening entirely, so the full floor plate stays usable. BBVA's Lima campus uses remote stack on #2 track, as do five of the eight systems at Consolidadora Chilena.

Can people walk between zones without opening a whole panel?

Yes. Pass doors are integrated into the partition itself, so circulation continues while the wall stays closed — that is how Consolidadora Chilena keeps its zones connected during events.

Is there a minimum or maximum project size?

The range on our own commercial work runs from a single 297 SF glass slider at Regional Utilities to eight separate systems on one floor at Consolidadora Chilena. Track selection and panel series change with the opening; the engineering does not.
