Project Overview
1,737 SF dual-system installation at Margaret Mead Elementary. Electric SIGMA 'E' panels for the gymnasium, manual SIGMA 'E' panels for classrooms and music room. Architect: BLRB Architects. Completed 2019.
Advanced Equipment Corporation installation at Margaret Mead Elementary School in Sammamish, Washington, designed by BLRB Architects and completed in 2019. The project features both electric and manually operated partitions to serve the school's varied spaces — from the gymnasium to classrooms and the music/performance room. The electric system uses continuously hinged SIGMA 'E' panels on a #8B track, providing smooth bi-parting operation in the gymnasium that allows the space to open into the adjacent commons area for assemblies, events, and large gatherings. The two-tone finish — grey carpet upper and p-lam lower — is durable and for high-traffic educational environments. The manual system uses SIGMA 'E' panels on a #1 track in the classrooms and music room, with a multi-finish approach including markerboard, carpet, and vinyl. The markerboard panels in the music room double as an interactive teaching surface, maximizing utility in every square foot of the installation.
